Direct Incentives
Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC)
Tax credits are available at 30% of the cost of the solar energy system, with no upper limit through 2016 for commercial and industrial. These Tax Credits are given back as Grants to businesses.
State Rebates
Commercial and Industrial New Hampshire Solar Rebate
The New Hampshire state solar rebate for businesses is set to go in effect soon. The rebate is per DC kW and will begin at $1.00 per Watt for any size PV system up to $50,000.
In addition, the C&I rebate for a PV system would be capped at 25% of the cost of the facility, or $50,000, whichever is less at $1.25 per Watt up to $4,500 or 50% of the total project cost (whichever is less).

• Grid-connected photovoltaic systems: This rebate fund has been exhausted for 2010.
Other Funding Possibilities
Clean Energy Assessment Districts (CEAD)
Check with your local municipality to determine if this incentive is available in your area. This incentive allows property owners to pay for a renewable energy system over a period of up to 20 years through a special assessment charged as a new line item on their property tax bills and paid to the municipality.
USDA Grants and Loans
All agricultural producers, including farmers and ranchers, who gain 50% or more of their gross income from the agricultural operations are eligible for these grants and loans.
REAP Grants
These grants for renewable energy systems range from $2,500 up to $500,000 or 25% of the total project cost.
REAP Feasibility Grants
These grants cover energy audits and feasibility studies for renewable energy systems and can be as much as $50,000 or 25% of the total cost.
REAP Loans
Loans range from $5,000 up to $25 million or 75% of the total project cost. , or disconnect, switch is a manual switch that can be used to disconnect a building's electrical system from the solar electricity system.
